University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Baseball & Softball Facilities
The new baseball and softball facilities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign provide year-round training, allowing athletes to excel at the highest level. The project involved the construction of two indoor training facilities, one adjacent to the existing baseball field, and one adjacent to the existing softball field.
CDI provided all land survey, civil engineering design, and sanitary/water permitting services. Site features included a circle entry drive, as well as a curved parking lot, with utility design comprising stormwater collection and detention, building utility service connections, and storm, sanitary, gas, and water. The new facilities were designed to meet LEED Silver standards, so the CDI team incorporated items such as a heat island reduction and stormwater management accordingly.
