University of Louisville Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium Expansion
The Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium North Expansion increased capacity by more than 6,000 seats, added field-level and club-level suites, and provided premium covered parking spaces. The project also included a 70,000-square foot addition to the existing Schnellenberger Center and implemented state-of-the-art athletic training spaces and meeting rooms.
CDI provided a 3D laser scan survey of the proposed project area, delivering a point cloud survey that could be imported into the project’s Revit model. CDI also provided all civil engineering design services, with construction documents including demolition, site, grading, utility, and site details. Utility design included sanitary sewer, storm sewer, fire, domestic water, and natural gas. Project challenges included actively working on the environmentally sensitive brownfield site, as well as utility congestion in the proposed project area.
