Tower Grove Park Historic Stable Renovation
Tower Grove Park’s Historic Stable Renovation involved structural engineering services for the existing limestone block wall stable—a structure with a timber joist roof supported on multi-wythe limestone block walls. Portions of the existing limestone walls were in poor condition, requiring reconstruction with a combination of new and existing limestone blocks.
The stalls were reconfigured, and new columns and foundations were added to support the existing roof. The site grading was re-configured to eliminate the flow of water toward the structure through the addition of drainage inlets, piping, and sidewalks.
