Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center
Civil Design, Inc. provided civil engineering and land surveying services for the new Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The visitor center includes a new lobby, ticketing, kitchen, and dining areas, event and meeting spaces, plant displays, and a new gift shop and auditorium.
CDI provided utility, sewer, grading, and pavement design for the new visitor center, and followed a phased project integration schedule to allow the Garden’s continued operation. CDI also designed a rainwater harvesting system, which collects rainwater from the roof of the new building. Rainwater is then treated inside and used to irrigate plants within the existing greenhouses on campus.
