CDI prepares Private Inflow Reduction Reports (PIRR) to identify sources and quantities of flow that can be eliminated from sanitary sewer systems, thus reducing the likelihood of basement backups.
First, affected property owners are identified through MSD's data and contacted by CDI representatives via:
1) public meetings
2) personal letters
3) postcard surveys
4) property owner meetings
CDI then helps property owners complete an Inflow Reduction Release Form, summarizing its findings with recommendations for inflow reduction.
