The continued growth of West St. Louis County has created new challenges for commuters. Studies of Wildwood stressed three of these challenges: increased traffic flow on Old State Road, the need for an additional entrance to a current subdivision, and a site distance problem on Valley Road.
CDI's Roadways market answered all three of these challenges by widening 1.2 miles of Old State Road and adding 250 feet of new roadway to connect Old State Road to the residential subdivision (designing sidewalks, utilities, and drainage as necessary.) In addition, CDI evaluated the sight distance problem on Valley Road, presenting a series of alternatives to the client.
